Dice have been used for games of chance for thousands of years. But in the
Far East,, Egypt, and even ancient Greece, the six-sided die was also popular
as a tool of divination.
If you want to try this method of divination, follow the directions below:
-
Draw a circle in white chalk on the divination table or board. Any dice which
fall out of this circle are not considered for the divination, unless they
fall on the floor, which is an omen of violent quarrel.
-
Take three six-sided dice and shake them in a die-box in your left hand.
Strict silence should be maintained during the shaking and throwing.
-
Toss them onto the table and total the uppermost numbers for each die in
the circle.
-
The interpretations of the sums are as follows:
-
Important Auguries:
-
If the same number (no matter which one) turns up more than once during a
session, it signifies the coming of important news.
-
If one die lands atop another, it warns women of the deciet of an admirer
or friend, and men of a need for great caution.
